New Zealand Dependent Visa
New Zealand Dependent Visa
The New Zealand immigration
services have come up with a range of
visa options for the dependent parents, children and partners to join their
near and dear ones in the country.
Parent/grandparent
The visiting parent/grandparent can move in and out of the country
more than once for a maximum term of 36 months on the same visa, however, each
of such stay cannot last more than 6 months. In other words, the permissible
limit of stay is 18 months within a 3 year period. This visa will not entitle
the visitor to take up work in the country during the stay. Additionally, the
child, grandchild or their New Zealand parent must sponsor the visitor. Your
partner can also be included in this kind of a visa application and
accompanying dependent children, if any, is required to apply for individual
visas.
Children
Children of New Zealand residents or citizen, on being granted
residence, are allowed an indefinite period of stay in the country, during
which they can choose to live, study and get engaged in any kind of
occupation. However, if the resident is
subject to the conditions of Sec 49(1) of the Immigration Act 2009, the
dependent child’s visa would also be subjected to the same. The dependent
children can move in and out of the country till the expiry of their travel
conditions, where the term of such an expiry is limited to a time frame of 2
years from the date of their first visit to the country under the resident
visa. The expiry of the travel conditions during their stay outside the country
will result in the expiry of their visa as well. The dependent applicant must
not be more than 24 years of age.
Partner
A dependent partner of a resident New Zealander can stay, study and
work in the country for an indefinite period, on being granted residence. This
kind of visa has the criteria of including the dependent children aged within
24 years. The partner of an immigrant with work visa can stay and work in the
country for the same length as permitted in the partner’s work visa. They can
study for a period of not more than 3 months and are allowed to travel in and
out of the country until the expiry of
their visas. The dependent partner of a New Zealander work visa holder can join
their partner and work in the country for either two years or one year only
when they have been living together for more than a year or less in the
respective cases.
If you are thinking of applying for a Dependent Child Visa New Zealand, then you should know that the dependent child’s maximum age is 24 for Resident Visa.
